Christmas Caroling

Friday December 16th

This event is open to EVERYONE!  We will be boarding a bus and sharing the joy of our Saviors birth with our shut-ins and area nursing homes. This is a great family event! All are welcome, the more the merrier!  We will have hot chocolate and doughnuts on the bus.

We begin at St. John's at 6pm and try to return by 9pm.  Bring your friends and your friends friends~  open to all not just members of the church.

This is my favorite event of the year and I know if you join us you too will feel the same.  It is such a joy to bring a smile to the faces of so many!

We would love to have you join us. Our retreat will be featuring the Loving Well study by Beth Moore. You won't want to miss this. Time for connecting with other women of faith and building a stronger relationship with Jesus! The event will be all inclusive and have four different price choices.

Bottles for Babies

Do you remember this fun event last year.  Well we are doing it again!  You will be able to pick up a baby bottle at any of the services on April 9th and 10th.  Start saving your change now!  The thank you letter from last years donation is hanging on the Women's ministry bulletin board!  We did a fabulous job--let's do it again!  All funds raised go to the Harvest House Baby Ministry located in South Buffalo.

Our next card making date for cards for soldiers will be held on September 10th. We will have the congregation sign the cards on September 11th, the anniversary of the bombings.  Hope you will be able to help us!

Finally the Cookie Swap recipes!

We tried a new thing this year.  We did a cookie swap but we also brought an extra dozen cookies for the City Mission.  They people over there were so thankful for the homemade cookies.  I finally finished making the recipe books.  Here are the pages.  If you click on each individual page it will show you the page in a larger format and you can even print it if you want!

Thank you to everyone who donated to Christmas Hams for the City Mission!

You guys at St. John's are so awesome!  Thanks to you we able to purchase 15 very large hams for the City Mission!  They were donated for their Christmas dinner along with 12 dozen cookies from the cookie swap and a check for $100! You created some happy tummys!

Volunteer to Read

Do you like to read? We are forming a group of volunteers to read to elders at the Absolute Care Nursing Home.  The coordinator at the home said that this is an urgent hard to fill need.  Won't you help?  Think of the joy you can bring to someone for just doing what you enjoy doing anyway.  Call Mary Jo at 662-7888 to volunteer.  If you have already signed up on the Fellowship of Worship form expect a call soon!

Cookie Swap to benefit the City Mission

Come join us for a Christmas Cookie Swap.
We will be swapping cookies, recipes and enjoying fellowship!

Saturday December 12th from 10-12 in the Fellowship Hall

You can sign up for as many spots as you want for this swap.
Each spot requires that you bring 5 dozen cookies (4 to swap and 1 to donate to the City Mission) and the recipe for your cookies.
We will be sending these with the Hams for the City Mission Christmas Dinner!

Hams for the City Mission Christmas Dinner!

At last night's meeting we decided to collect money to purchase hams to send to the city mission for their Christmas Dinner. What a worthy cause this is. Can you imagine that they are requesting 200 hams. Wow, that is a lot of hungry people. And we can help. Watch for the Christmas pig around church so you can make your donation!


Some of the women are also going to make cookies for the donation too! If you want to donate cookies too call me (Mary Jo 662-7888) for more details -- we are checking on the date we need them.
